Employment discrimination leads to a wide range of problems in the organization, such as harassment at workplace, oral abuse and physical and mental stress on the employee.

The employees working in an organization can face lots of discrimination which they might not have expected. Despite working sincerely and honestly, such employees are ill-treated which hampers their professional growth in the organization. Many cases of employment discrimination are reported daily. A case like a man of 40 years was demoted because he has turned 40 which according to the employer fall under older brains category. In another case, a pregnant employee was told to quit because she needs maternity leave. Such have been sufferings of various workers which showcases the inhuman and unfair acts of the employer.

To help such people or employees who are victims at the hands of the employer, the Employment discrimination laws have been established. They are also known as equal employment opportunity laws or Anti-discrimination laws and civil rights laws.

According to these laws, an employee or the one who is applying for the job can't be discriminated by the employer in any form in the organization. Whether it is hiring, promotions, retirement, maternity or medical leave, company facility or transfer case, no employee can be kept underprivileged than the other employee of the same caliber and potential.

Therefore, the employees can take support of the various discrimination laws made to protect them from any such harsh treatment. For every type of discrimination, there are separate laws for them. For example, age discrimination case is fought under ADEA (Age Discrimination Employment Act) whereas pregnancy-related issues at work place are solved through PDA (Pregnancy Discrimination Act). There is also a separate law for racial discrimination known as RRA (Race relations Act).

The court of law and the employment discrimination attorneys suggest the employee-victims of such discriminations to continue working in their respective organizations and keep a record of their work performance. The law takes care of the rest. It is there to preserve the employees' rights and opportunities against the unjust discrimination that holds no significance in front of a right candidate. The law discards any such types of discriminations and totally considered it unlawful and illegal.

We all are born equal and free. Similarly, every human being whether employee or employer has right to work. So, we must respect the human rights and create an atmosphere of healthy working.
